Using the Calendar

Day, week, and month views, reading a busy day, and using the grid to find the gaps worth filling.

Calendar is the shape of your time. Where Today answers “what is next?”, the calendar answers “how is the week looking, and where are the holes?”.

Day, week, and month

SettingWhat it does
DayOne day in detail. The view to use when you are planning tomorrow or fitting someone in around what is already booked.
WeekThe working default. Enough to see how the week is filling without losing the detail of individual appointments.
MonthThe broad picture. Good for spotting quiet stretches, holiday gaps, and how far ahead you are booked.

Your choice of view and date lives in the page address, so a particular week can be bookmarked or sent to someone else.

Reading a busy day

Appointments are laid out against the clock, so the size of a block is the length of the appointment. What you cannot see directly is the gap between appointments — it is applied behind the scenes when working out what customers may book, so the calendar can look like it has a slot where the booking page will not offer one.

The calendar is your view, not the customer's

It shows your real diary. Customers see a filtered version built from your hours, notice period, and service durations. If the two seem to disagree, that is usually why — see Why a time slot isn't showing to customers.

Using it to find gaps

The most useful habit is a weekly glance. Gaps in the middle of an otherwise busy day are the expensive ones — they are too short to fill and too long to ignore.

If you see them repeatedly, the cause is usually a mismatch between service lengths and your gap setting. Shortening the gap, or offering a shorter service, lets the grid pack more tightly. Booking rules: notice, cancellation, and how far ahead covers both.

For patterns over a longer period — which hours never book at all — Insights is the better tool.
